This year, the committee will build off of last year's work to reauthorize the Higher Education Act as well as the Elementary and Secondary Education Act. This is important work and I'm looking forward to continuing to find solutions that put our students first and give today's teachers the tools they need to succeed in the classroom, said Congressman Guthrie.

Included in the primary text of the bill is funding for many important agencies that keep our nation safe and secure, including: Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA), the U.S. Coast Guard, the Transportation Security Agency (TSA) and the U.S. Secret Service. Amendments to H.R. 240 were also included in direct response to President Obama's unconstitutional executive overreach on immigration.

We have seen that students who are equipped with this knowledge leave school with significantly lower debt burdens.
