From the earliest days of our country's history to today's hustle and bustle, everyone benefits from safe and modernized transportation infrastructure. It's our job to make sure that continues, said Congressman Guthrie.
Washington, DC– Congressman Brett Guthrie today voted in support of H.R. 5021, the Highway and Transportation Funding Act of 2014. “I’m pleased that the House was able to act in a bipartisan manner to protect key infrastructure projects and jobs across the country, without raising taxes,” said Congressman Guthrie. “H.R. 5021 provides our states some certainty as House committees look toward a more permanent funding solution and long-term surface transportation bill reauthorization.” H.R. 5021 reauthorizes federal surface transportation programs and ensures the Highway Trust Fund remains solvent through May 31, 2015, in a budget-neutral way. Estimates indicate that the Highway Trust Fund only has enough resources to continue through this month. “From the earliest days of our country’s history to today’s hustle and bustle, everyone benefits from safe and modernized transportation infrastructure. It’s our job to make sure that continues,” added Congressman Guthrie. ### |
