In Case You Missed It – This afternoon, Congressman Brett Guthrie (KY-02) was joined by Speaker of the House Kevin McCarthy for a radio interview on WHAS 840. They discussed the Biden border crisis, especially the threat posed by illicit fentanyl trafficking to the American people, and what House Republicans are doing to hold President Biden and his Administration accountable. Congressman Guthrie: “I was just talking to him as you were asking the question, Terry. We talked this morning, the Speaker had a group of us, the [Republican Conference], to talk about border security with a Continuing Resolution. And I think that’s extremely important, I think the American people, when I was home in August talked about the fact that we have complete lack of control at the border, fentanyl coming over across the border. And we talked about tying that into this [resolution] moving forward.”
Speaker McCarthy: “We have a number of funding bills we’ve got to get through. We know we have an open border, I think this is an opportunity, that you look at all the work the House has been able to do about securing the border, the Parents Bill of Rights, cutting back on the runaway spending here in Washington, making members actually show up for work. We’ve got to get this work all done before the 30th, I think we’ll be able to get there.” To see the entire 15- minute interview, click here. ### |
