WASHINGTON, D.C. - Congressman Brett Guthrie (KY-02) released the following statement after voting for three appropriations bills that passed the House of Representatives this week: the Department of Homeland Security Appropriations Act by Rep. Mark Amodei (NV-02), the Department of State, Foreign Operations, and Related Programs Appropriations Act by Rep. Mario Diaz-Balart (FL-26), and the Department of Defense Appropriations Act by Rep. Ken Calvert (CA-41).

“This week, I was proud to vote for three crucial House appropriations bills to strengthen our national security and stand with our allies in defense of the freedoms we hold so dear. House Republicans are committed to cutting the wasteful spending of the Biden administration while continuing to ensure the Pentagon and our servicemembers have the tools they need to stay the greatest fighting force in the world. I am also proud to support strong measures that stop the flow of illegal immigrants and illicit drugs into our country by continuing the Trump-era policies like directing funding to our Southern border wall. By combating the foreign influence of our adversaries like the Chinese Communist Party, House Republicans are ensuring that America continues to prioritize our national security and the security of our allies across the world like Taiwan and Israel. We must remain vigilant to the threats entering our nation and across the world, and this week’s legislation helps put our nation on a path to do just that,” said Congressman Guthrie.
