“Independence Day is a holiday where we come together and celebrate the liberties and freedoms that make us all uniquely American and sets us apart from the rest of the world.
“I am in awe of the accomplishments of our brave service men and women, who face challenges far greater than most of us could ever imagine.
“We are lucky to have such amazing soldiers fighting for our country, and I continue to pray for them and their families as they work to complete their mission.
“These men and women are playing an important role in our nation’s history, just as past generations did, to ensure our children and grandchildren have a future that is free and prosperous.
“So as we gather with our family and friends to celebrate the Fourth of July, I hope we each take a moment to remember our soldiers - those who are still fighting, those who have returned home to us, and those who gave the ultimate sacrifice so we may be free.”
