“I was pleased to hear of President Obama's trip to Afghanistan.

“It's important the commander in chief meet with our young men and women who are on the frontlines in the war against terror.
 
“Having visited Iraq in December, I have seen first-hand how visits from elected leaders improve the morale of the troops.

“Our focus continues to be stabilizing Afghanistan and denying the Taliban and al-Qaeda a refuge to attack. I am encouraged by the president's continued commitment to that mission.”
