As I have said in the past, this budget preserves our entitlement programs, repeals Obamacare, and puts the fiscal health of Washington, DC– Congressman Brett Guthrie (KY-02) issued the following statement today after passage of the House Republican budget, which was introduced by Congressman Paul Ryan (WI-01): “Today, my colleagues in the House supported a budget that has proved to be a responsible plan to balance the budget in 10 years. As I have said in the past, this budget preserves our entitlement programs, repeals Obamacare, and puts the fiscal health of our nation first. “House and Senate Democrats have a starkly different vision for the fiscal future of our nation. That could not be more evident by the fact that it took them nearly four years to introduce a budget. Their plan is not responsible, centering around tax increases instead of addressing our entitlement crisis, and does not balance. “While Congress continues to debate a path forward on the budget, it is encouraging to see that the House and Senate were able to come together and pass the continuing resolution to fund the government through the fiscal year without waiting until the 11th hour. The CR continues to reduce federal spending and limits the growth of government, and I am pleased that we avoided pushing the issue to the brink and threatening a government shutdown.” ### Guthrie-supported SKILLS Act Passes House
