Congressman Brett Guthrie today voted in support of H.R. 1797, the Pain-Capable Unborn Child Protection Act.
Washington, DC– Congressman Brett Guthrie today voted in support of H.R. 1797, the Pain-Capable Unborn Child Protection Act. “In the wake of the trial of late-term abortionist Kermit Gosnell, it is imperative that Congress consider this important legislation,” said Congressman Guthrie. H.R. 1797 would ban abortions in the U.S. once the fetus is 20 weeks old. Scientific evidence has proven that unborn children at this stage in development are capable of experiencing pain during an abortion. “Life is a beautiful and sacred gift. All life should be protected and this legislation will prevent the especially painful late-term abortions from taking place,” added Congressman Guthrie, an original cosponsor of the legislation. ### |
