Guthrie Votes to Support Our Troops
Washington, DC,
November 14, 2017
Washington, DC– Congressman Brett Guthrie (KY-02) today released the following statement after the House passed the Fiscal Year 2018 National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA): “Today I was proud to vote for the bipartisan, bicameral National Defense Authorization Act. This bill includes the largest pay raise for our troops in eight years – great news for service members serving at Fort Knox in the Second District. With the threat of terrorism in the Middle East and around the world, is it imperative that we maintain our military’s readiness to keep us safe. To do this, the National Defense Authorization Act increases the end strength levels of the Army, Navy, Air Force, and Marine Corps, and provides for the care of servicemen and women and their families at home and abroad. The bill also makes key investments in the Department of Defense’s ability to confront threats around the world by properly equipping and training our troops. I look forward to seeing the 56th annual NDAA signed into law as soon as possible.” The National Defense Authorization Act reauthorizes the Department of Defense for fiscal year 2018.
