WASHINGTON, D.C. – Congressman Brett Guthrie (KY-02) announced the 2021 Congressional App Challenge is officially open and calls on students to participate.

“I’m encouraging middle and high school students in Kentucky’s Second District to join this year’s Congressional App Challenge. This is a fun competition for students to get hands-on coding experience and showcase their creativity. It’s also a great opportunity for students to practice and learn new STEM skills. I’m excited to host this competition again and see the extraordinary apps that students build from scratch,” said Guthrie.

The deadline for middle school and high school students to register and submit their app online is November 1, 2021. Teams can be up to four students, and apps are judged by local science professionals. The overall winning app is eligible to be showcased in the U.S. Capitol and will be displayed on House.gov, the House of Representatives’ website.
