Today marks the 10th vote the House of Representatives has taken to approve the project, despite the Administration's ongoing delays and inaction. H.R. 3 would allow construction of the Keystone XL pipeline to begin immediately.
Washington, DC– Today, Congressman Brett Guthrie (KY-02) voted in support of H.R. 3, the Keystone XL Pipeline Act. “The State Department has conducted five reviews, which have all concluded the pipeline is safe for our environment and beneficial to our economy,” said Congressman Guthrie. “Considering that other cross-border pipeline projects have been approved within 18-24 months, it absolutely defies common sense to believe that more time is still needed to review Keystone when it has been bogged down by six years of red tape already.” Today marks the 10th vote the House of Representatives has taken to approve the project, despite the Administration’s ongoing delays and inaction. H.R. 3 would allow construction of the Keystone XL pipeline to begin immediately. “This shovel-ready project will create new jobs and contribute to a secure and affordable energy future for our country. Our domestic energy infrastructure is in dire need of modernization, and yet the Administration continues to stonewall this project by abusing a badly broken process. More than 2,000 days have passed since the initial application for the pipeline. Enough is enough, it’s time to build,” added Congressman Guthrie. ### |
