Guthrie Announces Washington County Rural Development Water Grant

Washington, DC– Congressman Brett Guthrie (KY-02) today announced that the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) office of Rural Development is awarding a $2,903,720 grant and a $9 million loan to the City of Springfield to improve wastewater systems.
“I’m proud to announce this water development investment for Washington County,” said Guthrie.“This grant and loan package will be used to expand the existing wastewater treatment plant capacity, which will serve over 1,300 residents in Washington County. This is great news for Washington County, and I congratulate the City of Springfield on receiving this competitive award.”
