Washington, DC– Congressman Brett Guthrie (KY-02) today announced that six students from Kentucky’s Second District recently received appointments to one of our nation’s service academies. “Having attended West Point, I take great pride in the academy nomination and appointment process,” said Congressman Guthrie. “I am always encouraged by the high number of applications my office receives for a nomination.” Each year Congressman Guthrie, with guidance from his Academy Board, nominates a limited number of people to our nation’s service academies – the Army, Navy, Air Force and Merchant Marine academies. Once nominations have been made, each service academy determines who will receive an appointment. The service academies announce appointments on a rolling basis. All appointments should be announced by May. “This is a very exciting opportunity for these students and I wish them the best of luck on their journey,” added Congressman Guthrie. A list of students who have received appointments during the past two months is included below in alphabetical order by last name. Over the course of the next few months, Congressman Guthrie will announce any additional appointments (for students who received a nomination from him).
