Washington, DC– Congressman Brett Guthrie (KY-02) today announced that Devonte Eugene Duncan of Brandenburg received an appointment to one of our nation’s service academies. “It was a great honor for me to notify Devonte of his appointment,” said Congressman Guthrie. “Devonte will make an excellent cadet.” Each year Congressman Guthrie, with guidance from his Academy Board, nominates a limited number of people to our nation’s service academies – the Army, Navy, Air Force and Merchant Marine academies. Once nominations have been made, each service academy determines who will receive an appointment. The service academies announce appointments on a rolling basis. All appointments should be announced by the end of the month. “Having attended West Point, I take great pride in the academy nomination and appointment process. I am always encouraged by the high number of applications my office receives for a nomination,” added Congressman Guthrie. Congressman Guthrie will announce any additional appointments (for students who received a nomination from him) during the month of May. ### |
