Congressman Brett Guthrie (KY-02) announced today that the 2014 Congressional Art Competition will begin on Saturday, March 1st.

Washington, DC– Congressman Brett Guthrie (KY-02) announced today that the 2014 Congressional Art Competition will begin on Saturday, March 1st.

“With each year that the competition continues, we receive more interest from promising young artists,” said Congressman Guthrie.  “I have no doubt that this year will show the same – an abundant amount of beautiful artwork from young Kentuckians.”

All high school art students (grades 9-12) are encouraged to submit artwork for the competition.  The first place winner will receive two airplane tickets to fly to Washington, DC to view their artwork on display and attend a reception in their honor.

“I am looking forward to seeing the hard work of our area high school students and wish them well as they commence their projects,” added Congressman Guthrie.

All artwork and application materials must be sent to Congressman Guthrie’s Bowling Green office by April 11, 2014.  Winners will be announced on April 25, 2014.

The 2014 student packet is available under the “Constituent Services” section of the Congressman’s website (http://www.guthrie.house.gov/congressional-art-competition1/).  A complete list of last year’s winners, including photographs of the artwork created by finalists and honorable mentions is also featured on the website.  Faculty or students with questions can also contact our Bowling Green office at (270) 842-9896.
