Washington, DC– Congressman Brett Guthrie (KY-02) today issued the following statement on the 11th anniversary of the September 11th attacks after attending a remembrance ceremony on the East front steps of the U.S. Capitol Building: “Today our nation mourns the loss of those who perished in the September 11th terrorist attacks. Our hearts may be heavy, but we are a grateful nation knowing the mastermind of the terrorist attacks can no longer cause harm. “While attending services at the U.S. Capitol today, I stand with America’s brave first responders and dedicated troops. Their efforts do not go unnoticed. I urge all of us to join together to offer our continued prayers and thoughts for the families of loved ones who perished on that somber day. Instead of remembering the horror or the loss, let us remember how these individuals lived their lives. “May we never forget September 11th and the sacrifices our nation made. God Bless America.” ### |
