Today, President Obama finally introduced his budget. It can be summarized as $1.1 trillion in new taxes and another $8.2 trillion in debt. Put simply, it is not serious.
Washington, DC– Congressman Brett Guthrie (KY-02) issued the following statement today after President Obama submitted his 2014 budget to Congress: “Today, President Obama finally introduced his budget. It can be summarized as $1.1 trillion in new taxes and another $8.2 trillion in debt. Put simply, it is not serious. The president’s budget will never balance and does not make an effort to preserve our entitlement programs or put the fiscal health of our nation first. “Every family and business owner across this country must balance their budget. We can’t continue to spend the earnings of future generations to support today’s bloated government. “This budget continues to hold our economy hostage with the double-threat of new taxes and endless debt. We must make the tough choices today so that we do not limit opportunity for future generations. Putting the fiscal health of our nation first is an important step in that process.” ### |
