Guthrie Votes To Help Lower Energy Costs

WASHINGTON, D.C. - Congressman Brett Guthrie (KY-02) released the following statement after voting for H.R. 4821, the Department of the Interior Appropriations Act, which will expand access to critical minerals and bring down high energy prices:

“This morning, I cast my vote for this Republican appropriations bill that not only reins in wasteful spending, but also helps to bring down high energy costs. By expanding oil and gas leases in the Gulf of Mexico and Alaska, and requiring the Secretary of the Interior to conduct quarterly onshore oil and gas lease sales; House Republicans are continuing our fight against the Biden administration’s one-size-fits-all Green New Deal policies that compromise our national security and have led to a historic rise in energy costs for American families. I will always work to make energy costs more affordable for Kentuckians,” said Congressman Guthrie.
