Bowling Green, Ky. – Congressman Brett Guthrie (KY-02) hosted a roundtable discussion with representatives from Kentucky’s colleges and universities to discuss issues affecting their institutions. “Hearing from leaders at Kentucky’s schools gives me the chance to hear the success stories of our colleges and universities, while at the same time gain a better understanding of the challenges they face in these tough economic times,” Guthrie said. “Our higher education system is a foundation for our economic future, and there has never been a more important time to continue investing in this foundation.” Guthrie hopes to gain insight from the roundtable to use in his role as the top Republican on the U.S. House of Representatives’ Subcommittee on Higher Education, Lifelong Learning, and Competitiveness. This subcommittee oversees education and training beyond the high school level.
