Washington, DC Congressman Brett Guthrie (KY-02) released the following statement today, Friday, December 11, 2009, after voting no on Rep. Barney Frank’s (D-MA) financial regulatory reform bill.

“While I and the American people continue to focus on job creation, there are still some in Congress who continue to look towards the same bad policies. This bill is a permanent government bailout that restricts credit and kills jobs.

“I will continue to listen to Kentuckians, who are tired of the endless taxpayer-funded bailouts that put Main Street on the hook for the bad decisions of Wall Street.

“I am committed to a better plan for financial regulatory reform introduced by House Republicans which ends the era of taxpayer funded bailouts and puts personal responsibility back into our free markets.”
