WASHINGTON, D.C. - Congressman Brett Guthrie (KY-02) released the following statement on President Joe Biden’s failures during first year in office.
“Today marks President Biden’s one year of one-party rule and one year of crises. Essentially every ongoing crisis in our country, including the economic crisis, supply chain crisis, border crisis, and energy crisis, can be tied to President Biden and the decisions his administration has made. As a result of his failed policies, Kentuckians are facing record inflation, higher energy costs, and supply chain and workforce shortages. This month I traveled to the Southern Border, where I saw how Biden’s border crisis makes it easier for deadly illicit fentanyl to be smuggled into our country and harm Kentuckians. Further, President Biden’s missteps and inadequate handling of the COVID-19 pandemic have resulted in shortages of COVID-19 therapeutics and tests, confusing and politicized COVID-19 guidance, and vaccine hesitancy as a result of his one-size-fits-all vaccine mandates. On top of these crises, President Biden has proven to be a divisive president, not the unifier he claimed he would be. I’m taking actions to ensure this administration is being held accountable,” said Guthrie.
