Washington, September 8, 2021 | S.K. Bowen (202-225-3501)

WASHINGTON, D.C. - Congressman Brett Guthrie (KY-02) supported a federal grant totaling $103,248 to the Mt. Washington Fire Protection District.

Guthrie voted to fund the Federal Emergency Management Agency’s (FEMA) AFG program, and the Mt. Washington Fire Protection District has been awarded a six-figure grant from this program.

“I’m pleased to see that more than $100,000 in federal funding has been awarded to the Mt. Washington Fire Protection District to assist firefighters with their important job of responding to emergencies. Much of this funding will be used to acquire equipment to extract victims from vehicle crashes. I supported funding for this program in Congress, and I’m happy it’s benefiting Kentucky’s Second District by helping purchase vital equipment to protect the local community and its visitors,” said Guthrie.
