Guthrie on Representing and Working with Constituents

“When you’re talking to Farm Bureau members, you’re talking to people that are wedded to their community. They’re deacons in their church, they’re on the fire board, they’re on the school board. Their hearts are in their communities, their hearts are in their land, and so it makes it easy for me to represent them. Because they really love the communities that they serve. So usually they’re just a great source of information for what’s going on in their section of the county and what’s moving forward.”

Guthrie on Agriculture Legislative Policies

“They’re focused on agriculture issues that are important to them. Their hearts are in rural America. They understand the history. They have respect for the government. But they are here to advocate for their industry. It’s for rural America but it’s also specifically for farm policies to make sure we have the food and fiber that we need.”
