ICYMI: Guthrie Applauds KY-02 CARES Act Grants

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Congressman Brett Guthrie (KY-02) today applauded the continued grant funding provided to Kentucky’s Second District through the Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security (CARES) Act

“When we created the CARES Act, we wanted to put money directly into the hands of those who are fighting the coronavirus pandemic on the frontlines such as health care providers and local communities,” said Guthrie. “So far, the Second District has received $113 million in grant funding, while statewide entities have received over $3 billion. This money is being used in many different ways to address needs that have arisen from the coronavirus pandemic – such as health care, housing, jobs, transportation, and education. I look forward to continuing to work with my colleagues on additional legislation to ensure resources are available for Kentuckians during this time.”

In addition to voting for the CARES Act, Congressman Guthrie led a committee hearing on potential COVID-19 vaccines and worked with his colleagues on a “Second Wave Preparedness Project” to prepare for a potential second wave of the coronavirus that might coincide with flu season.

CARES Act grants are announced on a rolling basis. Health care providers interested in grant money can find more information here.
