This is the 37th time the House has voted to repeal, defund, or dismantle Obamacare. The American people overwhelmingly oppose the law, which has already driven up insurance premiums by as much as 400 percent.
Washington, DC– Congressman Brett Guthrie (KY-02) issued the following statement today following his vote to repeal Obamacare: “This is the 37th time the House has voted to repeal, defund, or dismantle Obamacare. The American people overwhelmingly oppose the law, which has already driven up insurance premiums by as much as 400 percent. “There is a litany of reasons why the health care law is bad for patients, providers, and employers - the increased cost of insurance, the burdens on employers and small businesses, and the expansion of already-unsustainable entitlement programs, just to name a few. “As we learn more about the IRS’ targeting of conservative groups, we should be increasingly mindful that Obamacare expands the IRS by adding thousands of additional agents and gives the IRS increased ability to use their heavy hand over our nation’s small businesses. The same IRS that targeted their political enemies has enhanced authority to enforce Obamacare on our nation’s employers. “The focus should be on making our health care system more affordable. Obamacare takes the opposite approach and increases costs, which is one of the many reasons why I am proud the House voted to repeal it again today.” ------------------------------------------------------ You can view the report on premium increases from the House Energy and Commerce Committee here.
