This bipartisan legislation will ensure that wages and time on the job are not lost. Hardworking individuals should not be penalized because of this ill-conceived law, said Congressman Guthrie.
Washington, DC– Today, Congressman Brett Guthrie (KY-02) voted in support of H.R. 30, the Save American Workers (SAW) Act. “Among Obamacare’s numerous failures is the definition of full-time employment. Defined in the law as 30 hours, a dramatic reduction from the traditional 40-hour work week, the result is significant lost wages for our workforce,” said Congressman Guthrie. “This rule also places a tremendous amount of uncertainty on business owners who are looking to expand their workforce.” The definition of full-time applies to the Employer Mandate portion of Obamacare. Beginning this month, all employers were required to provide health care to all full-time employees or be subject to a penalty. “This bipartisan legislation will ensure that wages and time on the job are not lost. Hardworking individuals should not be penalized because of this ill-conceived law,” added Congressman Guthrie. ### |
