Congressman Guthrie Votes for Critical Mental Health Reforms

Washington, DC– Today Congressman Brett Guthrie (KY-02) voted to reform and improve the United States’ mental health care system during a House Energy and Commerce Committee markup.

“This has been a long-term effort by my colleague and the committee and I am pleased to support this bipartisan bill that will bring positive reforms to help families care for loved ones who are struggling with mental illness,” said Congressman Guthrie.

H.R. 2646, the Helping Families in Mental Health Crisis Act, delivers multifaceted reforms including improving access to mental health care and creating an Assistant Secretary for Mental Health and Substance Use Disorders. To read the full list of reforms, click here.
