Washington, DC– Congressman Brett Guthrie (KY-02), vice chairman of the House Energy and Commerce Committee’s Subcommittee on Health, today released the following statement on Anthem’s decision to no longer offer health care plans in 61 counties in Kentucky, including nine in the Second District: “Anthem’s decision to slash coverage in Kentucky is yet another example of how Obamacare is hurting Kentuckians. President Obama said, ‘If you like your health care plan, you can keep it.’ Sadly, thousands of Second District residents will have to switch plans. Now more than ever we must pass meaningful legislation to repeal Obamacare and replace it with a system that actually gives patients options. As vice chair of the Health Subcommittee, I will continue to fight for Kentuckians to get quality, affordable health insurance that they won’t have to worry about losing every year.”
