Congressman Guthrie Votes to Combat Opioid Epidemic

Washington, DC, May 13, 2016

Washington, DC– Congressman Brett Guthrie (KY-02) voted this week in support of a series of bills designed to improve the prevention and treatment of opioid abuse across the U.S.

“The growing abuse of opioids claims thousands of lives from all parts of our nation, and Kentucky has sadly become an epicenter of the epidemic,” said Congressman Guthrie. “My colleagues and I are working together to advance legislation that will provide improved care for those who are struggling with addiction and help stop the epidemic from destroying more lives, families, and communities.”

“These bipartisan bills will help stem some of the sources that fuel the opioid epidemic and help those who are affected recover from the addiction,” added Congressman Guthrie.
