Guthrie Announces Daviess County High School Student's Appointments to West Point and Naval Academy

Congressman Brett Guthrie (KY-02) today announced that Coleman Truett of Owensboro received an appointment to two of our nation's service academies.
Washington, DC– Congressman Brett Guthrie (KY-02) today announced that Coleman Truett of Owensboro received an appointment to two of our nation’s service academies. “Having attended West Point, I take great pride in the academy nomination and appointment process,” said Congressman Guthrie. “I am always encouraged by the high number of applications my office receives for a nomination.” Each year Congressman Guthrie, with guidance from his Academy Board, nominates a limited number of people to our nation’s service academies – the Army, Navy, Air Force and Merchant Marine academies. Once nominations have been made, each service academy determines who will receive an appointment. The service academies announce appointments on a rolling basis. All appointments should be announced by May. “Coleman previously received an appointment to the Naval Academy and recently received an additional appointment to West Point. I know he will do great at whichever academy he chooses to attend,” added Congressman Guthrie. Details about Coleman’s appointment are listed below.
