Washington, DC,
September 17, 2012
Today marks 225 years since our forefathers gathered with the hopes to give America the foundation to prosper. A true ÔCharter of Freedom,' the Constitution is more than just a piece of paper.
Washington, DC– Congressman Brett Guthrie (KY-02) today issued the following statement on Constitution Day: “Today marks 225 years since our forefathers gathered with the hopes to give America the foundation to prosper. A true ‘Charter of Freedom,’ the Constitution is more than just a piece of paper. For generations, the Constitution has displayed our principles of democracy and embodied the possibilities unique to our great nation. This vital document established a unique and limited government that empowered citizens and attempted to keep a growing government in check. “It is easy to forget the sacrifices our founding fathers made for the future of our country. On this special day, I have the unique honor and privilege to present service medals to veterans in Kentucky’s Second Congressional District, another generation of heroes fighting for America’s future.” ### |
