Washington, DC – Yesterday, Congressman Brett Guthrie (KY-02) welcomed Bowling Green minister, Michael D. Greene, as a guest chaplain to deliver the opening prayer in the U.S. House of Representatives. A minister at the Lehman Avenue Church of Christ, Mr. Greene has been a minister for 44 years and has served at churches in Kentucky, Tennessee and Georgia. “I am thankful that Mike was able to join me in Washington and bless the House chamber, and pray for me and my colleagues,” said Congressman Guthrie. "It is a real honor to be asked by Representative Guthrie, a member at Lehman church of Christ, to serve as guest chaplain and pray for our legislators to open the House session and I thank all the representatives for the honor,” said Mr. Greene. “But it is also my privilege to pray for our leaders on a daily basis and it is something we do at Lehman Avenue almost every service."
