Washington, DC – Congressman Brett Guthrie (Bowling Green) announced today that the Owensboro Airport is being awarded two grants totaling $2.5 million from the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA).  These grants will be used to purchase an Airport Rescue and Firefighting Vehicle and rehabilitate the airport’s apron.

“I am pleased that the FAA recognized the needs of this growing airport, particularly providing funds for a new crash truck so the commuter flights can continue being offered,” Congressman Guthrie said.  “As a member of the House Transportation and Infrastructure Committee and its Aviation Subcommittee, I am pleased that the airport can continue improving their facility to serve the aviation needs of Owensboro and the surrounding area.  I congratulate them on receiving this grant.”
