Washington, DC – Congressman Brett Guthrie (KY-02) announced today that he secured $250,000 to create a community center in Bradfordsville. “I have been working hard in Congress to help Marion County in any way I can, including securing funds for projects that are important to this community,” Guthrie said. “I am pleased that Bradfordsville will have the resources to create an important community center that will house a storm shelter and a gathering place for senior citizens.” “We appreciate Congressman Guthrie’s interest in this project and his efforts to help fund it. By renovating the school, we will create a centerpiece for our community,” Bradfordsville Mayor David Edelen said. “I believe that when this center is completed that it will become a hub for activity in Bradfordsville for years to come.” These funds were included in the Department of Transportation, and Housing and Urban Development and Related Agencies Appropriations Act of 2010, which is expected to pass the U.S. House of Representatives this week. |
