Guthrie Statement on NAATBatt Decision

Congressman Brett Guthrie (KY-02) released the following statement today regarding the Department of Energy's decisions for its electric drive vehicle battery and component manufacturing grants initiative.

Bowling Green, Ky.Congressman Brett Guthrie (KY-02) released the following statement today regarding the Department of Energy’s decisions for its electric drive vehicle battery and component manufacturing grants initiative:

“While I am disappointed with today’s news that the NAATBatt proposal did not receive grant funding from the Department of Energy, I remain committed to supporting this project in whatever capacity I can.  It is important to Hardin County and Kentucky because it will create thousands of jobs, so we cannot allow this temporary setback to deter our commitment to move forward.   Not only is this project important to spur economic growth for our region, but it also helps lead us on a path toward energy independence as we work to create alternative energy sources here at home.”
