Washington, DC – Congressman Brett Guthrie (KY-02) announced today that he secured $220,000 to install sewer lines in the Locust Hills Subdivision. “I have been working in Congress to help Daviess County in any way I can, including securing funds for projects like this that are essential to the health and safety of the community,” Guthrie said. “I am pleased to have the opportunity to help provide the necessary resources to improve critical infrastructure and the quality of life for residents.” “This project is one that these individuals have wanted for a long time. We appreciate Congressman Guthrie's efforts to secure funding to meet the growing needs of this community,” David Hawes, Executive Director of the Owensboro-Daviess County Regional Water Resource Agency, said. “The project will be extremely beneficial to both the residents of Locust Hills and improve the environmental conditions of the area.” These funds were included in the Department of Interior, Environment, and Other Related Agencies Appropriations Act, 2010, which is expected to pass the U.S. House of Representatives later this week. |
