Guthrie Announces Grant for Linwood Volunteer Fire Department

Congressman Brett Guthrie (Bowling Green) announced today that the Linwood Volunteer Fire Department is being awarded a $43,700 grant from the Department of Homeland Security's Assistance to Firefighters Grants (AFG) program.

Washington, DC – Congressman Brett Guthrie (Bowling Green) announced today that  the Linwood Volunteer Fire Department is being awarded a $43,700 grant from the Department of Homeland Security's Assistance to Firefighters Grants (AFG) program.

“These funds will help ensure that the safety of Magnolia and LaRue County remains a top priority,” Congressman Guthrie said.  “The men and women of this fire department are the first line of defense in a fire emergency, and these funds will make sure they are prepared.  I congratulate them on receiving this grant.”

The competitively awarded grant aims to strengthen the overall level of preparedness for the fire department and its ability to respond to fire and fire-related hazards.
