Guthrie Supports Effort to Keep Existing Health Plans, Shares Obamacare Stories from Kentuckians

The American people were told repeatedly that if they liked their plan, they could keep it. House Republicans today are trying to honor that promise.

Washington, DC – Congressman Brett Guthrie (KY-02) today voted in support of H.R. 3350, the “Keep Your Health Plan Act of 2013.”

“I have heard from countless Kentuckians who have received cancellation notices for their existing health care plans,” said Congressman Guthrie.  “President Obama told Americans for years that if they liked their health care plan, they could keep it.  That is clearly not the case.”

Congressman Guthrie is an original co-sponsor of H.R. 3350, which would allow insurance plans currently on the individual market to continue to be offered in 2014.

“This week I shared the stories of four residents of Kentucky’s Second District who faced skyrocketing premiums or cancelled plans.  These Kentuckians – and millions of Americans just like them – are looking for answers,” said Congressman Guthrie.

“H.R. 3350 seeks to help the millions of Americans who have seen their current plans canceled.  The American people were told repeatedly that if they liked their plan, they could keep it.  House Republicans today are trying to honor that promise.”
