Veterans

I am proud to serve brave veterans in Kentucky’s Second District, and I am committed to ensuring that veterans get the care and benefits they have earned.

My dedicated team of caseworkers and I help veterans and their families navigate the VA every day. If you are a veteran and need help navigating services from the Department of Veterans Affairs, please contact my casework team at my Bowling Green District Office at 270-842-9896.

Veteran Suicide

We lose around 17 veterans a day to suicide, which is 17 too many. We need to better care for our veterans and ensure local communities have the federal resources needed to help prevent suicides. In Congress, I am continuously working on improving and modernizing mental health care services at the VA and also in communities that veterans can access. I am focused on preventing veteran suicides by advancing policies that bolster mental health resources for veterans and make access to critical behavioral health care services easier through community care and telehealth care. Additionally, I have hosted suicide prevention trainings in Kentucky’s Second District. I was also part of the efforts to change the Veterans Crisis Line from a 10-digit number to an easier to remember 3-digit number.
