Update to Benefits and Veterans Crisis Line
In addition to helping veterans with the VA, I am a strong supporter of strengthening care and benefits that veterans deserve. I recently voted for the PACT Act that is now law and improves Vietnam, Gulf War, and post-9/11 veterans’ access to health care services related to exposure to burn pits or toxic substances during these veterans’ service. To learn about the new benefits and the new presumptive conditions tied to these toxic exposures, please click HERE.
I am also focused on preventing veteran suicides by bolstering mental health resources for veterans and making access to critical behavioral health care services easier through community care and telehealth care. As I’ve shared before, I voted to change the Veterans Crisis Line from a 10-digit number to an easier to remember 3-digit number. If you are a veteran or know a veteran who is in crisis, here’s how to contact the Veterans Crisis Line:

Last week I was proud to join the community in celebrating the groundbreaking of the Bowling Green Veterans Center. There have been many community members, including my staff and I, who have been part of this process for years to see this 60-bed nursing home for veterans come to fruition.
