Brett’s Bulletin: We Must Restore American Energy Dominance and Lower Your Energy Prices Dear Friends,I had the privilege of meeting with many Kentuckians over the last several weeks across our beautiful district and in Washington. I have been impressed with the passion and dedication of the many proud Kentuckians I have met with, including our KY-02 Congressional App Challenge winners who recently presented their app, ACHE, at the U.S. Capitol. I have also been hard at work with my Republican colleagues to ensure we reinstate American energy independence that we have lost over the past four years. We have recently seen gas prices on the rise, but I am confident that as we work to protect both our national and energy security, we can once again lower the energy costs for Kentuckians and Americans across the nation.

Brett’s Bulletin: We Must Restore American Energy Dominance and Lower Your Energy Prices

Dear Friends,

I had the privilege of meeting with many Kentuckians over the last several weeks across our beautiful district and in Washington.

Reinstating American Energy Independence

Palmer

I am honored to stand with my House Republican colleagues in support of American energy independence and help lower energy costs for everyday Americans. Under the Biden administration policies, prices at the pump hit a nationwide record of five dollars. Gas prices across Kentucky are still above three dollars per gallon, nearly a dollar higher than they were in January 2021.

That’s why House Republicans are committed to lowering energy prices by returning to President Trump’s energy policies. House Republicans recently held Energy Week, where we passed legislation to help set America back on course to energy independence.

One bill included that I voted for and that passed the House was H.R.1023, the Cutting Green Corruption and Taxes Act, introduced by Congressman Gary Palmer (AL-06). This legislation cuts President Biden’s $27 billion Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) Green New Deal slush fund. This program, which will funnel taxpayer dollars through non-profit organizations, is ripe for waste, fraud, and abuse. Last year, at an Oversight and Investigation Subcommittee hearing, agency officials refused to share details of how the EPA planned to keep these taxpayer dollars out of the hands of our adversaries.

This bill also repeals the EPA’s proposed natural gas tax, which would increase energy costs for Americans, kill jobs across the country, and undermine our national security. I was proud to support this legislation and others that help protect American energy security and place us firmly on the path to energy independence once again.

My Bill To Help Caretakers and Patients Suffering from Alzheimer’s Passes Energy & Commerce Committee

health

On March 20, my bill the Building Our Largest Dementia (BOLD) Infrastructure for Alzheimer’s Reauthorization Act of 2024 passed out of the full House Energy & Commerce Committee in bipartisan fashion, advancing to the House floor for full consideration by the House of Representatives.

This important reauthorization bill builds upon the BOLD Infrastructure for Alzheimer’s Act, which was first signed into law in 2018. This bill created programming to support the prevention, treatment, and care for patients with Alzheimer’s and related neurological diseases.

Alzheimer's and related dementias affect nearly every family across our nation, and we must do more to help patients and caregivers manage this vicious disease. My bill enables investments in programming to drive early screening and detection, as well as research initiatives to help identify treatments and cures for Alzheimer’s Disease.

The legislation also ensures families and caregivers of those suffering from Alzheimer's have the resources they need to improve the quality of life for patients living with the disease.

I look forward to this key bill being voted on by the full House of Representatives and continuing to help patients and the caregivers treating a family member with Alzheimer's.

March Inflation Report Shows Costs on the Rise due to Bidenomics Policies

CPI

Last week, the March Consumer Price Index (CPI) report was released, showing what families across Kentucky already know: that prices for the basics are still on the rise due to inflation.

The March report showed that inflation rose 3.5% over the past twelve months. This includes gasoline, which was up 1.7% in March and is up 47% since January 2021. Even basics like groceries are up 21% since January 2021 due to the reckless spending policies of Washington liberals, further extending the reach of inflation.

House Republicans are committed to lowering inflation and making sure Kentuckians can once again afford the costs of everyday goods.
