Dear Friends,
Over the past several weeks, I have been busy working to deliver President Trump’s agenda, securing key America First policies in the One, Big, Beautiful Bill. I also helped shepherd the Take It Down Act through the legislative process, which helps keep our children safe online. You sent me to Washington to deliver commonsense results that benefit all Kentuckians, and that is exactly what I am working towards.

Throughout this year, Kentucky has faced several natural disasters, impacting every region of our Commonwealth. Kentuckians are strong, and working together, we will rebuild and recover from these unprecedented floods and storm damage.
The Kentucky Congressional Delegation has worked with our local, state, and federal partners as well as with FEMA to secure major disaster declarations to help Kentuckians rebuild. I am still working to get public assistance secured for affected counties from one of the recent flooding, as well as a major disaster declaration for the most recent storm.

As a part of their efforts to roll out assistance, FEMA has opened ten Disaster Recovery Centers across Kentucky’s Second District. These centers will give local residents the ability to speak with FEMA representatives about the assistance programs that are available to them as well as get connected with additional recovery resources.

Getting the TAKE IT DOWN Act Signed into Law
On Monday, President Trump signed the TAKE IT DOWN Act into law. This bill was a priority of mine as the Chairman of the House Committee on Energy and Commerce as well as First Lady Melania Trump. The TAKE IT DOWN Act, which is now law, establishes recourse to protect victims of real and deepfake ‘revenge pornography’ on the internet. This bill passed both the House and Senate with overwhelming support earlier in the year. Getting this bill signed into law was the result of incredible bipartisan teamwork, and I am grateful for all my colleagues for joining together to do what is right.
Too many families and communities across the country have been devastated by the dangers posed by bad actors online. This sadly includes Kentucky’s Second District, as we recently saw with the passing of Elijah Heacock. I was proud to be joined at the White House by his mother, father, and siblings as President Trump signed this bill into law.
This law honors the memory of young Americans, like Elijah, and will work to prevent future tragedies. I am so thankful for the President’s emphasis on getting this bill across the finish line and look forward to continuing to work with President Trump in pursuing policies that protect children on the internet.

Working to Deliver on Our Commitment
If you have turned on the news in the past couple of weeks, you undoubtedly have heard about the One, Big, Beautiful Bill. This legislation is a large bill that makes permanent the 2017 Tax Cuts and Jobs Act and enacts key parts of President Trump’s America First policies, like securing the border and unleashing American energy.
Earlier this year, my colleagues selected me to serve as the Chairman of the House Committee on Energy and Commerce. Our Committee was responsible for tackling a significant section of the One, Big, Beautiful Bill. In doing so, we are eliminating reckless Green New Deal government handouts, empowering technological innovation, unleashing American energy dominance, and strengthening the Medicaid program.
I’m proud to report that after a more than 26-hour committee hearing, the House Committee on Energy and Commerce passed our section of the bill. Specifically, we ended the Biden Administration’s electric vehicle mandate, expanded energy infrastructure across the country, and ensured Medicaid was not being abused by illegal immigrants, ineligible recipients, and able-bodied adults who choose not to work.
I know there’s a lot of discussion about what this bill will do for Americans who rely on Medicaid. My top priority is strengthening the Medicaid program for those whom it was intended to serve. Today, Medicaid currently covers 1.4 million illegal immigrants, 1.2 million individuals that are ineligible to receive benefits, and 4.8 million able-bodied adults who choose not to work. Our committee spent months collaborating on a final product that emphasizes common sense and eliminates waste, fraud and abuse in our government.
On, Thursday, May 22nd, the House passed the One, Big, Beautiful Bill Act, with my support, to keep Republicans’ commitment to the American people and restore common sense to Washington. I’m proud of the work that the House has done to get to this point and am confident this bill will help families thrive and get bloated government out of our daily lives.

Securing the Future of Mammoth Cave National Park
Earlier this month, I introduced the Mammoth Cave National Park Boundary Adjustment Act alongside Senator Mitch McConnell. If signed into law, our bill would give the park the ability to acquire an additional 551.14 acres of land from the Nature Conservancy, expanding protections in the Green River Watershed. The property includes cave passages, including Coach and James Caves, which hold prehistoric and historic artifacts, and notably includes no private property.
Mammoth Cave National Park draws hundreds of thousands of visitors and contributes nearly $90 million to our local economy. I recently had the opportunity to visit the park with the Secretary of the Interior, Doug Burgum, where we talked with park staff about the importance of the park and the investments being made to improve the visitor experience for Americans.
I look forward to working with Senator McConnell to get this bill across the finish line and to support the continued success of Mammoth Cave National Park. More information about our bill can be found here.

Hosting Kentuckians in D.C.
It was great to speak with Kentuckians for Better Transportation recently to discuss how the federal government can best work with states to ensure essential infrastructure for years to come! In Congress, I am working to advance legislation to restore American energy dominance, particularly in our pipeline infrastructure.
Thank you to the Lupus Foundation, KY Society of Anesthesiologists, Kentucky pathologists, local auto dealers, and more for coming to Washington to discuss the issues that are most important to you!
This month, I had the chance to host the eighth-grade class from St. Joseph's School in Bardstown today for a tour of their Capitol! I’m confident that in their hands, our future is bright.
I had the chance to swing through Nelson County and meet with local officials to talk about ways we can work together to continue growing the local economy.
Ahead of my Committee’s work to advance our portion of the One, Big, Beautiful Bill, I authored an op-ed in the Wall Street Journal to outline the specific policies that were included in our section of the bill. Our plan helps to enact President Trump’s agenda by unleashing American energy, rolling back Biden-era Green New Deal regulations, and strengthening Medicaid for Americans most in need.
