Guthrie Votes for Historic Pay Raise for Servicemembers

WASHINGTON, D.C. - Congressman Brett Guthrie (KY-02) released the following statement after voting for FY2024 National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA).

“As the proud Congressman for Fort Knox and the Wendell H. Ford Regional Training Center, I am honored to fight in Washington for those who fight to protect our freedoms. Today I was pleased to vote for the FY2024 National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA) which will ensure that our military continues to be the world’s superpower, while also providing for the largest servicemember pay raise in over 20 years.  This legislation helps to continue strong Congressional support of our military and their families by expanding Basic Needs Allowance to assist servicemembers supporting a family, authorizes a reduction of out-of-pocket housing expenses, and reduces out of pocket childcare expenses for military families. I am also proud of my provision to support Army Human Resources Command (HRC) at Fort Knox as it carries out its 2030 army transformation plan to support our soldiers. I urge President Biden to sign this bipartisan legislation as soon as possible to provide for our military at historic proportions,” said Congressman Guthrie.
