Brett’s Bulletin: Listening to Your Concerns and Finding RealSolutions Dear Friends,Throughout August, I had the pleasure of meeting with many of you across our beautiful district. From small business leaders in Grayson County, to touring local manufacturing facilities in Hart County, to attending the groundbreaking of the new emergency room facility in Warren County, I have enjoyed interacting with so many of you. This month I have listened closely to the concerns families throughout the district are facing, and I am returning to Washington with renewed vigor to continue fighting to lower the costs of living and make sure you keep more of your hard earned money. I look forward to meeting even more of you over the coming weeks and continuing to speak with you about how I can best bring our shared values to the halls of Congress.

Solutions

Dear Friends,

Throughout August, I had the pleasure of meeting with many of you across our beautiful district.

Announced Hundreds of New Jobs Coming to Daviess County

Zyn

On August 27, I joined leaders from across our Commonwealth and executives from Swedish Match to announce a historic investment in Daviess County. Swedish Match’s parent company Phillip Morris International announced an expansion of its facilities in Daviess County which will bring more than 450 new jobs to our community.

As Chairman of the Health Subcommittee of the House Energy & Commerce Committee, I have helped lead the charge to promote harm reduction policies. I am also focused on continuing oversight to ensure the FDA is correctly doing its job of reviewing applications for new products, as well as removing illicit Chinese products from the market.

I also recently joined my Energy & Commerce Committee colleague Rep. Morgan Griffith, head of the important Oversight and Investigations Subcommittee, in asking for the Government Accountability Office to investigate why the FDA is still not meeting statutory requirements specified by the Tobacco Control Act, including timely review of Premarket Tobacco Product Applications (PMTAs) and a clear focus on harm reduction.

The announced expansion of production by Swedish Match in our District will not only help provide access to tobacco free products to communities across the nation, but also will help drive economic development across Daviess County for years to come!

2024 Service Academy Information Fair

As a graduate of West Point, one of my greatest privileges is to help the next generation of American leaders start out on their paths to our prestigious Service Academies. This week on Thursday September 5, I will be hosting our annual Service Academy Fair alongside U.S. Senator Rand Paul where my staff and I will host representatives from the U.S. Military Academy, U.S. Naval Academy, U.S. Merchant Marine Academy, U.S. Air Force Academy, and U.S. Coast Guard Academy to answer questions about the academies and the application process. The U.S. Army Reserve Officers' Training Corps (ROTC) will also have a representative from Western Kentucky University present to provide information on ROTC programs and college scholarship opportunities.

I look forward to seeing many of you this week to discuss the great opportunities offered by our Service Academies!
