Dear Friends,

As your member of Congress, I have the privilege of serving on the Energy and Commerce Committee. This committee has jurisdiction over a broad spectrum of issues, including issues relating to the internet and technology. On March 25, 2021, Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg, Google CEO Sundar Pichai, and Twitter CEO Jack Dorsey will testify before the committee.

Technology and the internet are integrated into our daily lives. We have especially felt their impact during the COVID-19 public health emergency, when many of us are working and learning at home on these platforms. We also use these websites to communicate with friends and family, keep up-to-date on the news, and access other online content. Online platforms also help me stay in contact with you on what I am doing in Washington, D.C and help me hear from you about issues that are important to you. However, not all Americans have positive experiences with these websites. Parents worry about their children being cyberbullied, seniors worry about being scammed, and some Americans worry about their ability to express themselves freely.

• What concerns do you have related to Big Tech and social media platforms?
• Do you have any examples of issues you have experienced with Big Tech that you would like to share with me before the hearing? If so, please provide details.
• Do you trust Big Tech to be open and to consistently and fairly enforce their policies? Why or Why not? 

Your feedback will help me make sure that I raise issues that are important to you with the Big Tech CEOs. Please feel free to share any experiences or thoughts you have, positive or negative.
